Setting the Notes field 'Principal' to any value caused the conversion algo to reset both, the Internet 'From' field and the Internet 'Return-Path' field to the values from user (instead of the owner).

However, you put us on the right track and setting INetFrom to the desired value (internet address of the owner, that is) did the trick.

Funny: if one sets the Notes fields 'From' and 'INetFrom' to an internet address, the conversion algo adds two Internet 'From' fields to the resulting internet mail. One field contains the owner address (as expected), the other the value written to the Notes 'From' field. (No, we did not append an item, we overwrote the value of the existing one.)

This is very, very obscure :(
